Kyoto city with a thousand-year history is the birthplace of the Kyoto Protocol and is taking actions toward drastic reduction of GHG. Four central symbol-projects are “Walkable Kyoto Strategy to give the public transportation the priority”, ”The Strategy of Kyoto to treasure the culture of wood”, “Life-style Innovation through ‘DO YOU KYOTO?’ campaign”, and “Promoting the technological innovation”, all of which are promoted by making the most use of regional characteristics.
